OH.
MY.
FREAKING.
GAWD.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I LOVED IT! LOOOOOOVED IT! ALL MY CHILDHOOD DREAMS CAME TRUE! WHY AM I TYPING IN ALL CAPS?
Anywho.
Wow. Just... wow. The special effects were... hot dang, they were spectacular. Amazing. Awe-inspiring. Beaaaaautiful. My goodness. I want to go again. Every day. For the rest of my natural life.
Short. Broken. Sentences.
Okay, so. The movie is absolutely a must-see. The plot isn't too fast, or too slow. And, while it does make the Transformer (*cough* Bumblebee *cough*) fangirl from many a year ago squeal from deep within my kidneys, it doesn't only cater to Transformer whores. It's hilarious, as well. The battle scenes are mouth-wateringly good, with just a hint of spice.
A beautiful, beautiful film.
Of course, since Bumblebee has always been my favorite of them all, I was utterly infatuated with the fact that he was the most often shown Transformer. I was rather put out that he wasn't his Bug form (on a side note, may it be forever known that since the early days of Transformers watching, I have wanted a VW bug. Coincidence? I think not.), but my goodness, he was AMAZING in this film.
I -loved- him in this movie.
And that part - where he was captured and all - honestly... I teared up. I sort of wish he would have just blasted the beejeesus out of those 'Super7' guys, but eh. Whatever.
What's weird, though, is that Bumblebee was the only Autobot I ever really enjoyed. On the whole, I prefered the Decepticons. Reasons?
1) Apparently I have a thing for villains.
2) Though this never actually happened in the cartoon ( BUT IT DID IN THE MOVIE, BOO-YA!), I liked the fact that they were willing to kill to get what they wanted. Now, I know this isn't a 'good' thing, but it was a cartoon, man, a cartoon. Get over it.
3) Though they always lost (ALWAYS.), they kept going.
4) Silly evil giant robot antics.
Good guys are always so... one sided. I rarely feel any real depth from them.
However, this film has deeply satisfied that.
I was happy that the Decepticons were more, well, evil-esque than the cartoon versions. They looked badass. They were badass.
Really. It was awesome.
Yet I found myself quietly rooting for the Autobots throughout the movie. My inner Decepticon-loving child was tossed to the wayside.
Gawddang, I'm a dork.
Anywho, it's a wonderful movie. Wonderful. Fantastic. Yay.
I'm going again tonight. XD
